Macclesfield, England. Late 2010. In a market Town South of Manchester the McKenzie's introduce Redwillow to the World. Born out of a passion for good Beer, Caroline and Toby McKenzie started RedWillow Brewery after their hobby for home brew outgrew its home.
December 2010 saw the fledgling operation launch its first brew. Directionless Pale IPA was available in Bars across Macclesfield and marked the beginning of an operation that continues to grow.
Its thanks to Frank and the guys at Honest Brew that we discovered RedWillow. Two cans of their Weightless Session IPA were included in our latest case and they were the first brews we cracked open.
With an ABV of 4.2%, Weightless pours clear and golden, with a white head and a very fruity aroma, orange, apricots and Mango. Its full of hops and extremely flavoursome. Again fruity in its taste with a long dry finish.
For a Brewery born out of a Hobby, these guys have it sussed. I have my eye on a bottle of their "Feckless" beer. That should sell well in Ireland
There is plenty more to the tale of Red Willow, but tonight I am keen to crack another beer, so enough typing. Check out their Website for more info on the Beers available.
