"Simply a beautiful west coast IPA, light bodied and packed with fruity hops from America". - Henrietta The Hen, West Coast IPA is a new release from the self proclaimed eejits at Hillstown Brewery in Randalstown. A farming town nestled in the County of Antrim, Northern Ireland. Brewing Craft Beer since 2014, the Brewery was born out of the quintessentially Irish idea of getting Cows Drunk! Ok, there is a little bit more to it than that, but that's the jist. The full story is available on the Website.
I have never had much of a sweet tooth, so when I saw this on the shelves at Lusty's Centra in Larne yesterday, it didn't take me long to tie it into Easter and justify, to my self anyway, the purchase of this Easter Treat. Hen's lay eggs right?
Henrietta the Hen clucks in at 4.7%. Its a punchy little IPA, with a great start, great middle and great finish. This West Coast IPA is a little bit of the USA straight out of Randalsburger and I enjoyed every drop. Its light with a fruity input. My only criticism would be of my self, as I should have bought more. If you can find some of the Hen, then don't pass it by. I have tried several of Hillstown Farm Brewery's Beer, but this is by far my favourite so far.
4.7 ABV Strength
330ml Cans, although also available in 500ml Bottles
2 for £5 promotion at the in store Off Sales at Lusty's Centra Larne. I have made mention of Lusty's Centra in Larne before. Their craft beer selection is the best I have seen outside of Belfast. I do fear, that the Lusty Family are going to be partially responsible for Bankrupting me someday! Screw it.
I can live in my tent.
